Why do so many travelers/bloggers brag about eating food on airplanes?

What? You get excited about unwrapping butter and opening packets of salad dressing on flights? So weird

DP. Have you met a child?

That ice cream in Polaris is pretty bad. You’re not missing anything, I promise you.

I buy sandwiches at the airport if I fly economy or premium economy. Food in business on United and Air Canada is middling at best but I eat it.

Had a delayed flight from Dulles to London last year and like 90% of the plane was wolfing down trays of gross airplane food at like 1:30 AM. I would like to be able to pay extra for them to cancel meal service on my flights.

Serious? Instagram, TikTok and travel blogs are full of people posting photos and reviews of in-flight food. It’s a way to brag you’re in first or business and they pretend the food is amazing. It’s so weird.
Maybe it's just that they are bored in a seat for a few hours, and have time to set up lighting and stuff

They remind me of the old fashioned tv dinners when I was a kid. My family only ate them as a special treat (or probably last resort to my mom).

Never seen this. Not even once.

It must be your algorithms.

Tone down the social media. It is distorting your world view!

That is easy to do. Say, “no thank you. “

Your family sounds fun!

I would love to travel with such a sense of discovery 😀

Not only does the food look gross (hospital food, at best), why would you ever think the food is safely handled by bozos at the airport and lowest bidder vendors? And apparently even worse since Covid with safety protocols ignored, so in-flight food poisoning is super common. A flight last night from Michigan to Europe emergency landed at JFK after about 30 crew and passengers out of 277 began vomiting uncontrollably from food poisoning, creating a biohazard on the plane.

CBS reports over 70 passengers became violently sick due to black mold on spoiled food. Nasty stuff.

People wolfing down airplane food has always grossed me out, whether in the back in my 20s or up front with my husband. I could see maybe if it’s a private jet, but eating on a filthy commercial plane surrounded by 200 or 300 slobs is disgusting.

The most popular travel blogs do detailed video or photo play by plays of this crap. It’s very weird.

It is all business. Many such blogs make money for their authors.
