What is everyone reading for June?

It is about a woman whose cell phone was stolen. An hour later, she happens to see a different cell phone in a trash can and decides to keep it. Then she learns from incoming calls and texts that her found phone is a company phone that used to belong to the personal assistant to the boss of a company. She begs the boss to please let her keep it for a few days and promises to forward all messages related to the company to him. Next thing you know, they are both heavily involved in each other's lives.

I thought the book was fun and sweet.
I downloaded it from my library website. This is the fifth book by Sophie Kinsella I have read this year.

Sounds sweet and clever. Putting in on my list - did you know she’s very ill with a brain tumor? Makes me so sad.

That's at the top of my list so let me know what you think! Especially with the audiobook - I always have a book on my Kindle and an audiobook based on whether or not I like the narrator.

NP - I just read this book and really enjoyed it. A perspective I haven’t seen much about before. Really solid read. Hope you enjoy it!

I read Someone Else's Shoes by Moyes and enjoyed it.

I loved that book too along with her other book "Giver Of The Stars" so this month decided to read "Someone Else's Shoes" which I was totally disappointed in

Yes, I knew about her brain tumor. Learned about it when someone posted on here recently. So very sad.

I also read this book. Earlier this year my library had about 50 copies of the book available on Libby and I downloaded it then. Now my library has 2 copies with 33 people on the waiting list. I thought it was excellent. And I am glad I downloaded it when I did.

Oh, for me, I liked "Someone Else's Shoes" way more than "Giver of the Stars".

I just finished listening to "Crazy Rich Asians".
It is about a woman who finds out her boyfriend of 2 years comes from a very wealthy family. She is Asian, but has always lived in America. He grew up in Singapore. She accompanies him on a trip back to his home country where he is the best man in a wedding for his childhood buddy.

I thought the basic story was good. However, easily one third of the book was descriptions of clothes / jewelry / furnishings / decor / purses / shoes, etc. I would have much preferred a condensed version of the book instead of all that. There are 2 sequels but I don't plan to read them.
I picked that book to read because it sounded fun.
Downloaded it from my library website.

I hadn't read the author before was surprised by how good it was--both compelling subject matter and well-written. I am not sure why I had such minimal expectations, perhaps because the little I heard of the Secret Life of Bees movie seemed a little "Hallmark"-ish? Anyway, I def recommend, and will probably go off to read other Kidd books in the next months.

This is my favorite book ever. The Four Winds was a good follow up

I'm reading What Alice Forgot now. Alice hits her head and forgets 10 years of her life. The story is good, now that I'm 75% done with it. I felt very lost the first few chapters (I hate those kinds of books where you learn more about characters after reading for an hour.) I also don't like how long the chapters are. It's much easier to read 2-3 five minute chapters than a 15 minute long one. I got the book through the Libby/Kindle.

I read "What Alice Forgot" a year or two ago. I liked it. I mentioned that I had read it in one of the previous monthly "what are you reading" threads here and a bunch of people chimed in that they too had enjoyed that book.

I LOVED this book. I also loved The Secret Life of Bees. I’ve never seen the movie. I am having a hard time getting into The Book of Longings for some reason.

Absolutely loved Invention of Wings as well.

Ha, me too! Although that may have been because I read Someone Else's Shoes and I listened to Giver of the Stars and I thought the narrator was boring as hell.

Another NP and I really liked it too. Good writing and the perspectives were interesting.

Table for Two by Amor Towles

I picked it because I love his writing and it really shines in this book which is a series of short stories.

So far I am really enjoying it. But, I should note that a lot of the characters are very familiar to me and it turns out he is a friend of friends so I know the world he inhabits.

Bought it on Kindle.
