| I was completely ghosted by Auburn too. I’ve reached out so many times trying to get info. and they rarely respond or follow up which is concerning. I guess they don’t need the money. |
What grade for DC? |
| Current parent. I would say that it’s solid and that they have a lot of good staff, but it has been less neuroaffirming/understanding then when we first started in ES. |
| Bumping this thread. Any current parents willing to give an updated impression on Auburn School? |
I'm glad you bumped it. I'm curious too as I've heard such a range of feedback about it the last few years. |
| Also bumping. Especially for elementary school. |
|
I would say it depends on the specific grade.
They struggle with turnover but we love Our DC teacher. DC is in 4th |
| The academics are pretty weak and the staff is completely burnt out, but they just got certified for MCPS non-public placement, so now they’re packing in extra kids. You are totally right about the for-profit company owning them—they are cutting corners left and right. The good things people said above are true too, but to answer the original question about whether they've actually improved after years of complaints? The jury is still out. It seems like a mixed bag—some parents think it’s helping their kids, and others are pulling them out. |
| Is Auburn similar school to Diener? Serve the same kind of kids? |
The methodology is similar but it’s like choosing the stale store brand over the name brand item. Look to the buildings of the school. Diener has state of the art everything. Auburn has peeling paint and a small playground. |
