That’s not the issue.
Third graders may pee in the pool—but they know they shouldn’t and they certainly don’t brag about it in a cheeky way to grownups.

Let’s be honest grown-ups pee in the pool all the time! Have you ever been to a resort with those Swim up bars? You see grown men who don’t leave the pool all day. They’re certainly not dehydrated…

This is vile. I can't imagine adults doing this. Wow! This makes me not want to swim in pools with other people.

And does your child exhibit other signs of having ADHD?

When it was time to leave, I said to my son, say thanks to Mrs. ____ for inviting us to come play at the pool, and my son replied "Thanks for having us! I peed in the pool." My friend either didn't hear or pretended not to hear, but I wanted to die. This is so embarrassing right? Am I overthinking this?

maybe less country clubbing?

Ok can someone tell me if this is true or this person is being sarcastic? My kids have never ever peed in the pool and always get out and run to the restroom. This is gross and clearly parents are failing to teach their kids basic hygiene and proper manners. If this is true, I am never letting my kids go in a public pool. Thankfully we do have out our own pool so they can just stick to that.

Use it as a way to TEACH MANNERS.

Super disgusting that so many people are saying that everyone pees in the pool. Especially adults. Don’t disguise your failures as commonalities.

TBH I would be back then, now that my are in HS, my skin is thicker!!
Op, don't sweat it, your child didn't want to leave so he made a come back! Next time say something like "say what again",! And have a private talk.

I'm sure the mom will not hold you to it, just let her know you appreciate her for everything

My parents taught me not to pee in the pool. I peed in the pool.

It is common among kids. There's a South Park episode on this.

I definitely peed in the pool as a kid. So much easier to just pee than get out of the pool and go into the nasty public bathroom, or have to dry off to go in someone's house. Obviously I dont do this as an adult, but I always assume there is urine in the pool. Also think about the water flowing in and out of everyone's nether regions and then flowing right by your face...

A 7 year old boy we had over once whipped it out and peed in our back yard right in front of everyone. He was putting on a show and was generally awful. But I actually felt bad for his mom, who was a single mom and had told me how much she struggled with him.

You are disgusting. Forget other people. The fact that you’re ok with swimming in your pee water says a lot about hygiene. Gosh why are people so gross and LAZY?!

She's just being honest. This is anonymous, so I appreciate it. Kids pee in pools. It's just reality. There is usually no consequence to it, and it's convenient, so they do it.

Yes

Then don’t worry about it, if that’s the worst they do at the pool you’re doing just fine.
