Why be so mean over such an innocuous question? Do you have children and do they share your same aggressive and hateful personality traits? Oh and BTW, be aware that simply being contrary is not proof of intelligence.

Not the PP you are referring to, but I get her point and don't think she's being mean. She's expressing the disgust many of us feel when we see these stupid subject lines. Any 40 yr old woman still worrying about whether or not she's chic needs to get a life. Do you read Seventeen, too? Will you pass on your shallowness and obsession with appearance to your children? That's making the world a better place.

Your comeback is pretty defensive and mean, so get off your high horse.

i get real tired of people that hang out on a beauty and fashion discussion board just so they can call other people shallow when they express an interest in beauty and fashion.

seriously, wtf? what are you doing on the board if the topics are so meaningless? evangelizing?

lord - By the time you put all those layers on, the matinee you were going to see with your 4 yo will be over.

a positive? You could hide your child under the layers and skip out on paying for an extra ticket.

For fall, just get some nice AG, 7 or citizen jeans...dark wash, or get some corduroys. Wear ballet flats and a nice solid sweater or shirt. Accessorize with a long necklace or big earrings or a scarf. Also maybe throw in some jean skirts, and dresses with boots occasionally for anything more than running around. Invest in a nice bag and jeans and then gets some sweaters and shirts at AT Loft, banana and gap...it doesn't have to be that expensive. In the summer jersey dresses and dressy sandals, white jeans, etc can work well.
