Yes that's how double albums work!

No it actually might not work like that. Taylor loves to release multiple versions of her albums, each version maybe containing extra songs the others don’t. I think it’s very possible because this was a surprise second album that TTPD is one cd, and you have to buy the second surprise one (Anthology) separately. It was never billed and sold as a double album.

This. She’s going to double her first week of sales because everyone who pre-ordered the album will have to buy it again to get the Anthology version.

Does this sound like someone you want your kids to look up to?

Or is it possible people are reading too much to her lyrics?

My kids don't enjoy her but that is what I don't get about her appeal. It's a lot of trashing people, men, other women including a song about Kim Kardashian which is getting stupid at this point. It comes off so immature. Folklore was the one album I really liked.

She also says she's a functional alcoholic which some clocked.

Citation for the bolded, please?

in so long London, she says “ you sacrifice us to the gods of your bluest days” there's some other throwaway lines but that's the one I remember.

Good grief. That doesn't mean he "suffers from major depression." Please stop putting garbage out into the world.

It doesn't but it's certainly the narrative of that song. She is a great songwriter. People can trash her all they want, but she's prolific and so fluent in evoking a certain kind of female experience (that I am sure not *all* females share, but I get it even though I am 40). She's also great at using simple language to convey complex emotions, again, to that particular group. I can see how it would not resonate with everyone.

A lot of the songs are about her, not men.

She is so overrated. Give me Madonna any day

It’s not about Kim. I can’t believe how dumb people are. The song literally talks about middle school and how the bullying made her who she is. This isn’t an inference - it’s literally the lyrics. Don’t criticize something if you don’t even bother to listen to the songs.

It definitely is about her! She capitalized the letters KIM for a reason...

Unpopular opinion….. “with the help of AI” - either writing, giving ideas, “singing”, producing, etc. TS can capitalize on all of the past hard work she already put it over the past decades. She has legitimate talent, is business savvy, and has general mass appeal.

It’s win-win. Swifties just want the music that sounds like TS, with messages and Easter eggs, and girl power!!

I get it! And I’m not mad at her. Old school “albums“ used to take years. I predict we will get a couple every year going forward.

That’s the beauty of it. You can buy Madonna and the rest of the world can keep Taylor Swift on top.
