| Looking like beach soccer on an artifical surface takes skill and technique |
That’s what I was thinking of when I wrote that there seemed to be little ball control going on in the game. I mean not a single player who got a head on the ball tried to take it down to their feet and back to the ground. |
Considering the biggest DCU U14's Midfielder was in Florida at the time and several of the other Midfielders are 2011 and 2012 players, I wonder who's the massive giant you're referring to? |
| Link is there just watch for yourself |
What? I was talking about SYC. |
| SYC CB's are killing it |
|
When you're anonymously criticizing the skill levels of the players selected to be at the DC United Academy, please do the region a favor by saying who your son plays for so that DCU scouts can go watch him.
With all the scouting they are doing, it's hard to fathom how they selectively keep missing the exceptional, once in a lifetime generational talents of DCUM parents kids. Which top clubs with top talents at U12 and U13 are so elusive in the small DMV pool that DCU can't find them and aren't told about them? |
What does that translate to in soccer terms? Is SYC unbeaten throughout the season with the lowest GA stats and the most shutouts? How many SYC CB's were at the USYNT U14's camp in Atlanta few weeks ago? People, let's keep the silly emotions in check when talking about 13 year olds. The U14's aren't even invited to serious MLS Next tournaments. |
Yup, 45 seconds tells a full and complete story. Case closed 🤣 |
my brother, I was just making a comment from video calm down |
A bit defensive r we? I mean maybe it was just a bad day for the kids. It was also windy so that might have contributed to the ball going all over the place. I don’t think anyone should think that DCU finds and develops all the talented kids in the DMV area. It’s one club for a huge metro area. Other comparable cities in Europe have more than one youth academy and can sustain those academies with talented players. There are other pathways outside of the DCU path. |
If going watch or fast forward through the entire thing, it was the same the rest of the game. No ball control on either side. That 45 seconds encapsulates the entire game well. I’m sure those players are solid players, clearly, it was an off day for most of them. |
What age group and pro academy is your son at and what are they doing there? Each one teach one. Educate the masses. |
Yeah, and it is not an indictment of the players, it’s an indictment of a club (DC United namely) that doesn’t teach players an understanding of how to play. |
If you are a DCU parent, that’s what most of the parents on the sideline are thinking about when watching. Still not getting it? |
