Take a look at the current standing for SYC 2 and ASA 2.
SYC 2 is currently first in the league with 8 W and 1 L ASA 2 is 2nd to last in the league with 2 W and 7 L Fall will be different. Half the players on SYC 2 will be leaving. |
What age group are you assuming half will leave? |
I see the OP mentioned 2012. Syc 2012 1st team is very strong and hard to move up unless a player moves or get picked up by an academy. |
| I would go with FVU because it is the top team |
Where would those half go? R they hoping to get on MLSNext or ECNL teams? |
Not going to say it's not better being on the first team but to be real majority of the kids on second teams are not ready to be on top team. Very few if any will get moved up to top team and when they do they will have very limited playing time. |
Top team is not always the best. You have to see if your player fits in with the group and the coaching style.
|
At least for the 2012s ASA 2 plays up a year in NCSL D3 they lost 4W 1D 4L SYC 2 plays EDP D1 their record is 5W 1D 3L Where are you getting your data from? |
The Alex that you are referring too are you looking at the right ASA. The second team is playing up anger 11 v 11. So in reality you are comparing the third team. SYC does not play up in 2012. They're top team is just starting. So of your saying SYC 2nd team is better than ASA second team make sure you are comparing apples to apples. The 2nd SYC team is better than the 3rd Alex team. So reality of the story is. You want to go to the second team that is giving best chance for developement and get the experience needed to make top team. If you look at Alexandria the top and second team is being heavily recruited for ECNL and GA because of the developement. |
At least for the 2012s ASA 2 (red) plays up a year in NCSL D3. Record 4W 1D 4L SYC 2 (pre-MSL II) plays EDP D1. Record 5W 1D 3L FVU can’t be any worse, given that they are a three club combine. |
2011 National League Standing
|
2011 ASA second team has a few good players and then some rec level player and since they couldn't fill the roster they are having 2012 play up.

The one where the child likes the team and coach best.

Agreed. These parents are the ones that want the ECNL. Most girls at 12u could care less. They would rather be with friends. These leagues dont matter until they turn 15 to 16 years old. But we got parents living they there kids putting them thru stress and will burn them out before it counts |
| I wandered over here to get ASA boys info (and that's how the conversation started, with discussion of MLSN). Girls parents managed to take it over! |
