That’ll change quick after they lose Monday. They cannot touch even an “average” private school without their FOGO and from what I have seen and heard he is not playing.

And they finish the week with Atlee at home on Friday. 2 tough games for Riverside this week. Would be cool if other Loudoun Schools (Indy/Briar) would challenge themselves by playing tough teams like Riverside does.

Surprised they could not do better v. St. Albans but Riverside is still the top of Loudoun for now anyways. We will see how they do v. Atlee

Pub vs Private. Maybe should have been closer, but this is not the same Riverside from the last few years. They have some pieces, but lack depth.
Agree they are the top for now, but it’s a long season and we’ll see how they hold up in May/June.

Over the last 8 years, Riverside has always seemed to get stronger as the year goes on. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't the same this year. From what I saw, last night was just a sloppy game. Maybe the Monday blues, maybe the wind, maybe the hour trip, maybe they just had a bad day. I mean, I wonder how Briar Woods and Indy would had done in DC last night? Guess we will never know... Lets see how things look late April and May.

Different poster - Riverside looks a bit down to me from last year and more than a bit down from a few years ago, but still clearly the best team in Class 5. Indy would lose by 15+ to St. Albans and Briar Woods even more.

I didn’t say anything about them not being the best in 5 for the moment. I have seen this team enough over the past 5+ years to say they are not what they were. They have a ton of talent, but the depth of the past is not there. The 25s and down do not play with the same precision and discipline of teams past. This lack of depth will begin to bite them as the 24/25s wear down over the course of a long season. That happens on every level and in every sport. Again, not speaking of today, it’s what the status of teams are in May and June that counts.

I'm saying the Riverside team was even younger last year, they got blown out by Albans and Severn early. Crushed by Atlee. Then they started getting better and better, developing depth, they seem to get stronger and they do the opposite then wearing down. So you are correct, it is May and June that counts, and based off of previous years, I think Riverside knows that as well.

Lightridge beat freedom 17-4
Dominion beat Independence 12-11
Loudoun valley beat champe 10-9

Dominion is way down on both the boys and girls side this year. The girls don't even have a JV team and they had 4-5 college commits graduate last year (including their goalie).
