Actually she has plenty of negative stuff about her diva demands, taking back tips Ben leaves for waitresses at strip coins, demanding staffers not look her in the eyes, being rude in general to the crew on set of movies, cheating on her first husband with P. Diddy , cheating on her poor second husband with Ben Affleck who was devastated and loved never so much he still hasn’t dragged her though the mud or went after a cent from her . There’s also a rumor she and Ben hooked up for a one night stand after her divorce with Marc while Garner was pregnant with her son. |
Agree with others - you have to respect her incredible dedication / discipline on her fitness, diet, lifestyle.
I don’t know much about her parenting but seems like she is accepting of her daughter’s non conformance which is nice. I hope all is well with her and she and BA can be happy. I did not at all care for the way he tried to pin his alcoholism on his ex wife Jennifer Garner. I hope his relationship with JLo allows them both to grow and form a more healthy attachment. |
+1 is that why she became androgynous? |
I think she became androgynous because she shuns everything about her mother, from her femininity to her vanity. It’s very sad. J-Lo must be a terrible mom. A lot of pop stars are. I’m looking at you Cher and Madonna. There’s too much ego to parent properly. |
Pretending that her lack of wrinkles is due to olive oil and not botox is wild. |
Pretty much this. I’m not a JLo fan, but what’s evident is that she’s hard worker who loves her family. She doesn’t really seem to have any vices except for a bit of a “love addiction” and we’ll see where that goes with Affleck round 2. |
From the outside, I do feel sorry for her kids.
- Her breakup with ARod seemed unilateral, and broke up their blended family. - She uprooted the kids to CA from Miami to play house with BA. - Their dad (Marc Anthony) also has a new family and lives across the country. Not saying J Lo can’t live her life or be happy, but seems like she’s putting her kids through a lot. |
Only the kind of talent that makes “Out of Sight” the best Detroit movie ever made. |
A Rod wasn’t 100% faithful. And those of you saying she should fade into obscurity—if she keeps getting well-paying jobs/appearances, why on earth would fade into obscurity? Lots of jealous and grumpy women criticizing her. |
I don't really like her music or her voice but her dancing is amazing and I find her energy and level of fitness at her age inspiring. I get that her overall appearance is no doubt heavily enhanced by a lot of expensive procedures/interventions, but just the idea that a woman in her 50s can perform at that level is inspiring to me. I am mid 40s and it gives me hope that my 50s and beyond don't have to be this rapid decline. Even if she's getting a lot of help from Botox and other stuff, she clearly takes great care of her body. Good for her.
I also think she's a talented actress. She's the kind of actor whose performance rests on harnessing her charisma in a specific way. Actually very similar to George Clooney, her Out of Sight co-star. When she makes really dumb movies with bad writing, it doesn't work. But with a decent script and director, she has that on screen energy that makes someone magnetic. That's a very rare quality. Also agree with what others have said about her being very hard working. And I like her with Ben. I do think she tends toward the vain/shallow end personally, and he seems like a guy with demons, and they seem to balance each other out a bit. He seems in on the joke about his hangdog facial expressions. |
I don’t care if she’s had some Botox or a few procedures, that beauty is God-given. She’s extraordinarily beautiful. Look at photos of her from her 20s to today: beautiful at every age. I’d like to see you get up on stage at the Super Bowl or up on a stripper pole for “Hustlers” (which is genuinely a great movie, by the way). Let’s compare your “natural beauty” to hers. |
She’s addicted to the honeymoon phase of a relationship. She doesn’t seem to realize that this phase ends for everyone. It is not about finding a soulmate that gives you that lasting feeling, but it’s about growing up and being mature and building a relationship with someone.
She can’t handle that and she’s absolutely addicted and as soon as this phase ends she’s off to the next. Most people learn this by mid 50s and it’s really sad that she has not. I hope for the kids sake the relationship with Ben works out, but it’s not looking good. |
So, if you criticize a celebrity you're automatically ugly yourself. Jesus.
The thread literally says, "can we analyze." Yet, some of you think if we do this, it puts us in some sort of automatic category. FTS. |
I love JLo! I hope she and BA last. Whatever happens she’ll come out on top, she always does. |
If you’ve lived in the U.S. for at least the last 10 years, her level is not beyond anything ever seen. Last POTUS - prime case study in narcissistic personality disorder. Sister Wives - Cody - same thing.
NPD is generational, parent to child; cycle never ends. J. Lo calls her mom a narcissist. Watch the documentary again and you’ll see mom displaying the traits. NPD is a cancer in this country. |
