I know at least officially when I leave jobs, even bad ones, I try to do so without much drama. I may need my former employer again at some point.

And badmouthing the super as a former employee is just bad. All the supers know each other. It's a small network. It can start issues with her next job.

She was publicly suspended from her job for two weeks by the superintendent.

Why?

They did an investigation and she was cleared and reinstated. Old news.

The bullying at Ashlawn is out of control. If we could afford to move or pay for private school, we would in a second. Recess is like lord of the flies.

You have posted about this multiple times. Follow up with the school - they can’t fix what they don’t know about.

lol of course many of us have “followed up” with the school. it makes little difference - keeps happening. and if you think it is a problem limited to my children, you really don’t have any idea what happens there

Well, maybe things will change with your new principal.

My son just finished 5th and he never mentioned recess bullying at Ashlawn (and he’s a kid that would mention it and is more likely to be a victim than perp when it comes to bullying).

My kids finished 1st and 4th and I am also unaware of any bullying. We’ve never had any communication with the school except glowing reports at conference time, so it’s not my kids.

If you have information about the school or principal that you think a new family should know before deciding whether to enroll a child with special needs in the school, please share it. You can post without identifying yourself. Leave out or change details. It’s a pretty large school. No one will know who you are, or care.

NP. Are you in MONA. There are a few current Ashlawn families in the monaspecials subgroup. Might be a good place to get info.

Congrats Ashlawn on Ms. Neary being appointed principal. She was fantastic when we were there as AP!
