Ashlawn -- how are new principal and vice principal?

Anonymous
How are things going with the new principal and vice principal? We are considering transferring my daughter to Ashlawn after a not fantastic year at a private school, but it's hard to know whether she will be any happier at Ashlawn.

Does anyone know how the new principal and vice principal are with students with mild special needs? Not that they will do a lot of interacting with the students, but in my experience, they really set the tone for what supports and services the teachers are allowed to offer.

Ashlawn has historically been one of the better APS schools for special needs although I have no first hand experience

Then why are you posting?

This has changed with the new admin. OP is asking about the current situation.

I’m OP. Do you have any information? Everyone seems to love Ashlawn historically, but I’m finding it very hard to connect with current families, especially current SPED families.

Because I know what the PP said is not current or accurate. It's misleading.

OP, sorry I can't post more (it could be identifiable) but you are correct to ask around.

Not this poster but....because parents of kids with special needs talk. Some principals are !@#$%^& criminals who should be drawn and quartered and some are saints. I am Southern Catholic. I pray to the saints for the good ones and VooDoo doll the others.

This is OP. I can’t tell whether the person posting here has legitimate information or not. If you have information about the school or principal that you think a new family should know before deciding whether to enroll a child with special needs in the school, please share it. You can post without identifying yourself. Leave out or change details. It’s a pretty large school. No one will know who you are, or care.

No one will know or care? Oh sweet summer child, you have a lot to learn.

People care about you 1000 times less than you think they do, always.

OP- there's always a parent with a grudge. The fact that there's only one person here being very vauge at best tells you something. APS parents speak up when something is wrong. Very little is said negatively about Ashlawn.

Why are you so invested in denying there could be problems at Ashlawn?

That was my first post on the thread. There’s been no evidence of problems at Ashlawn provided so far…
