Anxiety meds

None of these SSRIs did a thing for my anxiety except give me depression to go with it. But they work for everybody else. I really wish stress would not be confused for the real thing as it impacts the small number of us who really have it.

None of you have real anxiety or even know what it is.

Just because you haven't found a cure/solution/treatment that works for you, doesn't mean that other people don't have anxiety and SSRIs can/do work for them.

Sorry you haven't found relief, but you are not the center of the universe and your experience does not dictate whether anxiety exists for others or not.

This.

I see the Releaf reps are lurking here...

Cannabis for anxiety is a horrible idea. Whatever short-term relief you may get will be completely undone by the horrific rebound anxiety when you quit. Blowing out your neurotransmitters is never a step toward better mental health.

And having been a medical cannabis patient for years, I disagree completely with the idea that any cannabis "therapies" are "tailored to each individual and carefully supervised". This is utter BS, IME,

Buspar was great, no side effects, I could even just use as needed

Lexapro on the lowest dose numbed me way too much. Zoloft works well for anxiety without killing my emotions. No weight gain on it for me. However, I feel the drowsiness badly at all times of day, no matter when I take the meds. Does this side effect go away? I’m not falling asleep any earlier either so that doesn’t help

Some people are going to gain weight on anything, whether caused by the med or not. IT will be listed as a "side effect" like tons of other things that correlated to taking the med during trials. It doesn't mean causation.

It sounds like you were a cannabis addict and had to wean yourself off. A lot of us use it occasionally and it works great. No "rebound anxiety" for me.
