+1 I am OP and I like Biden. I like him as a person, and as a president. I am not holding my nose to vote for him. I like him. |
^ But maybe that will change after I learn that he is old. I didn't know he was so old when I first found myself liking him. |
Because people don’t want to be wrong. He was mildly compromised when he was elected in 2020. Any unbiased person who has followed politics (and therefore Biden’s career) for any length of time could tell he was not the man he had been. But the loyal followers refused to acknowledge it at all. They wouldn’t say “Biden may be feeling his age but he is still better than Trump.” Instead they said “it’s a stutter!!!” or “he is 100% and the most sharp and vigorous man in history.” They lied to themselves, their families, the press, to everyone. They lied!! And some dumb dumbs who don’t follow politics believed them. Well now the dumb dumbs refuse to be snookered anymore. But none of them will admit in public that they are the liars or that they were the lied to. People don’t like to look foolish. It is truly the emperors new clothes on display. My children can tell Biden is diminished and just like in the fable, the kids don’t know they are supposed to lie. And in polls people don’t lie. |
If the fate of democracy is at stake, you need a President people have confidence in. Not just their aides running the show. |
I just don't understand why the media is so afraid to say that he's old. When will the media get brave enough to force this truth on the American people? |
+1 The people have not been adequately informed that Biden is old and that that is the biggest crime a person can commit. And after I leave this thread, I will not know that Biden is old. Even though he’s gotten more legislation passed, despite having uniquely strong legislative headwinds, than any of his predecessors. No one is talking about Biden’s age nearly as much as they’re talking about Trump’s treason against his own country. |
Exactly. Which is why I fear a Trump presidency so much--I have zero confidence in his intellectual or governing abilities or his willingness to do the right thing AND absolutely no confidence in the sort of people that he will hire as aides. Given that a lot of the day-to-day work is done by aides, who does anyone imagine would agree to work for the WH or Trump administration given what happened the first time around? There won't be any more "adults in the room"--it'll just be a bunch of cray crays whose main qualification will be 100 percent loyalty to Trump. What normal person would want to work for him? |
Biden is old? Really?
I thought it was early onset Alzheimers. |
I think you’re thinking of Trump. There was talk about him showing signs of early onset Alzheimers years ago, probably because his father had it too. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2019/04/09/does-donald-trump-have-dementia-we-need-know-psychologist-column/3404007002/ |
I think there should a maximum age just as there's a minimum age to be president. I think capping it at 65 to run, so out of office by 70 is reasonable. That gives a 35 year age span to be president. |
No, I am talking about Biden. A lot of people have been wondering about his cognitive issues for some time now. Joe Biden is no longer mentally well enough to be president https://www.standard.co.uk/comment/comment/joe-biden-us-president-mental-health-b1106452.html |
Biden will not be the nominee. My money is on Whitmer as POTUS nominee and a male POC from the south as the VP nom. |
The DNC is much more powerful infra-party than the RNC. |
^^^^ “intra-party” ^^^^ |
+1, does anyone remember how many chiefs of staff and secretaries Trump went through? And you think it's going to get better with all of the non-MAGAs (and competent ones) now exiled for "disloyalty"? Come on, people. Just look at all of the people that resigned under pressure under Trump last time: https://www.brookings.edu/articles/tracking-turnover-in-the-trump-administration/ |
