| I'm in a similar boat- a guy who I dated last year now has a new much younger GF who is in one of my circles, and I have to spend time with them. It's hard sometimes to separate my awkwardness about being thrown together with and ex and the weirdness of him dating a woman who is literally young enough to be my kid. But I get along with him well enough, so I make an effort. And I've found that she's actually pretty mature and a nice person. We don't have much in common, but that can be true for people my age too. So maybe if you are going to be around them, figure out either commonalities or use her to learn more about what the kids today are into, since you might find some new bands or a cool new show. |
Women in their 20s are like drugs for men in their 40s especially divorced men. |

I think it’s hilarious that on a board replete with angry women talking about how men are such pigs and immature, there’s so much resistance to the idea that the husbands friend is dating this woman because she’s hot and probably other things and the husband notices but absolutely refuses to comment. The wife is jealous. The 20something is probably not as vapid as is being assumed but is probably 100% not looking for something serious and the relationship chemistry is 1 part young and hot and 1 part wealthy and can afford to do things that are way more fun than blacking out in a row house in Glover Park (or wherever the kids drink these days).

| You don't have to go. |
Bingo… |
You slept with the same guy… A lot in common. 😁 |
Oooh good one. I’m 0 stupid and 0 infantile. |
| As a man who dates women in their 20s all the time, I promise you they are not intimidated by older men OR women. |
| Don’t you just hate men who date younger women? |
Perfect. |
Then why bring her around the 40 something friends. Go have fun but why put this on the friends. |

Here's the deal. I'm 60 and we've gone through this for year.
Men bring APs to dinner 2 weeks after their wives find out. Excuse me but I'm friends with your wife. Men expect your kids to do playdates with their kids while their 26 yo girlfriend is there, no thanks. Women bringing their boy toys to parties, just happened at the Superbowl party, nobody is impressed and yea his tats or sooo cool. Men with younger girlfriends who are pressured into bringing the "around the friends" to prove they are not "seeing other people" when we all know he is "seeing other people". Just keep you private lives private. The reality is you just stop hanging out with them. Sorry but I can't be everybody's friend and guess what I don't put my husband in a situation to hang with my friend's boy toys either. What do I do when I have my niece at dinner, I don't pretend she is as mature as me. I often am giving her advice on her PhD program, job opportunities and financial advice. What does my H do when our daughter brings her boyfriend home, my H treats him like his own child. A CHILD, not an equal. |
