We have had other poodles and doodles and honestly I love all of them but my personal observation is that the poodle brings a lot of intelligence to the mix but also a lot of sensitivity, so it helps to mix with a less sensitive breed. One of my family members currently has maltipoos and they are adorable and sweet and easy in most ways but definitely high strung compared to cockapoos.

You can get allergy tested to see if you are actually allergic. That's what I did several times over the years. I am ok with hair, not fur. Our dog does not shed at all.

There is a difference between dogs who tend to shed more and dogs who tend to shed less, but what they are growing out of ther follicles is not different.

No, they are different and some dogs shed, some don't. No dog is truly hypoallergenic but some are better than others for some of us who do have allergies. Mine does not shed at all.

Our breeder just had four Havanese from the same mom as ours. Ours is a great dog and really good experience with the breeder. Still talk regularly to her for advice and just to say hi.

Not bizarre at all. Since you are overpaying for a dog that has no breed standard then anything goes. There is no conformity. It’s not an actual breed and so there is no way to know what to expect no matter what the breeder says. It’s all marketing.

This. Pp you got lucky. I used to work in a doggy daycare and the doodles were insane. I'm sure some doodle breeders concentrate on temperament, but unfortunately many do not.

Really expensive! About $3300-$3500 for what? Fine Labradors - nature and nurture - where breeders do everything possible to avoid any entering the doodle pool, are less.

If you get a non shedding breed please be prepared to brush the dog every few days to avoid mats. Don’t be the a-hole owners who need to get their dogs shaved because they get matted. Matting is very painful for dogs.

I have a Yorkie. Don’t do it. It’s the most stubborn dog I’ve ever seen. Also, they are the worst at potty training.

Glad you found a dog you like. Personally, I'm a poodle person. I've had standard poodles, and now my current dog is a miniature, poodle. Love, love, love, love the size of this dog. He's on the small side to almost a toy but he's perfect. Smart Great personality, etc.
