They are hyper, like all doodles, and they can’t guarantee that they are hypoallergenic. Stick with the original list.
Yep, I have a bernedoodle now. They’re not for anyone who can’t handle a hyper pet. So much work.

Any Malteepoo or Yorkiepoo breeder info?

Please don't get any tiny squish-faced dog. You will spend a fortune on their teeth and they will likely lose them. Small is one thing, but so many small breeds have been bred for looks and not for health and they are nightmarishly expensive because of their health issues.

And agree that "hypoallergenic" is a myth -- one that dog breeders of "hypoallergenic" dogs are happy to perpetuate, by the way, so don't listen to a self-interested dog breeder assuring you that your kids won't react to her type of dog.

PP, are you located in NYC by any chance? We met a Lagotto named Enzo on vacation a few years ago who lived in NYC!

I like this breed. Does is crossbreed with a terrier/maltese at all?

They take a lot of flack, but our labradoodle is an amazing dog. She was pretty energetic for the first two years but is now a dream girl at 3!

Ok this is hilarious. What are they?

Schnauzers and poodles both have hair, not fur, and they're on the AKC's list of hypoallergenic dogs. We have family members with dog allergies who aren't bothered by either.

I have allergies to other dogs but not our havanese. This is correct to get a dog with hair, not fur. We groom ours a lot and wash weekly.

This stupid myth that all doodles are hyper is bizarre. our doodle is the most laid back chill dog and has been her whole life.

Yuck. And I am a fan of hybrids for genetic diversity .

If I were you, I would just Google poodle, breeders, or whatever breed you're looking for and then call an interview them. Don't just interview one, interview many to rule out puppy farm breeders. And when you meet the dogs, see where they sleep. Are they house dogs or are they in cages? How many litters does each female have before their spayed? How do they choose the sire? Can you interview the family where they got the sire? Can you meet or interview people who adopted dogs from you?

This. My sweet toy poodle is a rescue. She was (sadly) a puppy mill mama, and was 4 when she went into rescue. She's our perfect baby girl.

Hair and fur are the same thing. The exact same thing. There is no difference between hair and fur.

There is a difference between dogs who tend to shed more and dogs who tend to shed less, but what they are growing out of ther follicles is not different.
