I don't get the WE emphasis, but ok. Also 10 days in two countries that are not as touristy as the areas OP is talking about is a different story. also you didn't say how many of you traveled. I find $4K hard to believe in this scenario, very hard. You can't even take a domestic beach vacation for $4k, much less under $4k. You're leaving stuff out.

yes please do an AMA on this trip.

Agree with folks that this sounds like a lot of stops for 2 weeks and you should maybe drop one or 2. I know folks are suggesting to drop Venice but I’ve been to all you mentioned (except Florence) and Venice was by far the favorite for me and is such a unique city and experience. We went to Murand and Burano while we were there which added to the charm. Sounds like an amazing trip whatever you decide.

For one, I’d drop first class rail.
If dropping a city: drop Florence, not Venice.
Florence sits in a valley that gets no breeze at all and becomes unbearably hot in the summer. Also Venice is more of a must see vs. Florence, imo.

DP - I agree with this. Esp with kids - Venice is the best. Doesn't matter young or old. Florence is beautiful but it's a lot of museums. I love Florence but I'm 51 years old. Florence is that sweep me off my feet the scenes in movies set to opera. It's picturesque. The thing about Venice? It's unique - there's glass blowing, sitting and hearing jazz and just chilling out. You can't really do this right in summer but you can get lost just walking around and it's cooler than it sounds. Venice is accessible. For having seen it once you will never forget it - it's just different than all other places. I have been to Venice, Florence, Rome, Tuscany all more than once and Venice is the place I tell everyone they must go. The other towns are wonderful and definitely worthwhile but Venice is the one place you gotta go once in your life. I do think Summer is a hard season for it but between never going and going in summer, you know..

I can't understand all of the disregard for Florence. I have been multiple times starting at age 20 and it has been magical every time. Also, the hill towns surrounding Florence are wonderful and a great place for a farm stay, hike, etc. If you don't love Florence, spend a bit more time learning about the Renaissance. But I guess part of the magic in Florence is that most of you are leaving at night.

Price sounds fair. Just plan for food and other stuff. Depending on that could run you to 30k. Shopping can be expensive.

How many people is 4K
We're going to Ireland in May and it is not 4K.

This seems like an excessive number of stops.

Yeah we've done two week European vacations the last three consecutive years for under 20k total. 24k just sounds crazy. Though we're a family of three.

This sounds possible and reasonable depending on your plans. I just bought 3 tickets to Europe this summer for our family and it was 7k. (economy tickets with extra legroom on a direct flight in the end of June).

It’s needing two hotel rooms and so many destinations and train tickets/flights that’s pushing it that high. We’ve done a week in several major cities for about 9-10k each time including airfare and hotel. Two weeks would have been doable for about 13-14k I think. We did have two hotel rooms actually but they were mot easy to find for a decent price at 3-4 star hotels. I think OP could probably come in a bit lower than 24k but with so many different stops and transportation 24k is not unreasonable.

I do recommend against the itinerary. To me, those are two or three different trips. London/Paris fine or just do Italy. I don’t like the idea of hopping around Europe that way in two weeks. Travel is stressful and tiring. You’ll spend less and have a better experience with fewer stops.

LAX to London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice. Includes 4 Star hotels (we do not want short term rental homes). First class rail, all air travel, all airport transfers, $800 tour credits for any tours we may choose. We are considering dropping one city from the itinerary, but for the time being does this quote seem fair?

Thanks!

Seems about right, I suppose. Our family of four is spending a week in Paris in June. For four United Polaris business class tickets IAD-CDG, limousine airport transfer, 6 nights in the 3 Bedroom Suite at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, nightly Michelin 1-2 Star dining, and general spending money we’re planning about $12K.

Dumb joke post Just those business class tickets alone would be $4k/person in June, and that hotel probably $2500/night for a large suite.

Seriously. Paris is pricey. My family may have done it for around $10K for a week. And we were quite frugal.

Don't believe them. They've been asked questions by other PP's and haven't replied to any of them. As I said upthread, you can't even do a domestic, average beach vacation for 10 days for under $4k. Heck not even $5k! This person used perks of some kind, or they forgot to add a "1" in front of that $4k.

I would get Airbnb to have a few thousand
