Same. My family attended their church. Kennedy had charisma, and was better looking in person. |
| She’s a classic beauty. Not bombshell blonde, big boobs, lots of makeup, over done hair. Classic, Simple, refined and normal. |
+1. just like liberals here trash Melanie over hundreds of pages but think the Bidens are so well dressed. truly unbelievable |
That doesn’t make any sense. People are so self-absorbed and perceive the world through their eyes. If someone is ugly or average looking, they are more likely to be less judgmental of other people’s looks. If you’re a 4 out of 10, you’re not going to call a 6 ugly because that would make you hideous. It’s good looking people who are more confident in their appearances and are able to objectively, without feeling, say that a 5 is just a five, not a ten. Without styling Jackie was a 4 at best, signed a much better looking woman. |
PP was actually quoting Seinfeld |
No, she’s classically ugly, with wide-set eyes, a flat nose, a round face, odd complexion, bad teeth, weird mouth, and asymmetrical features. She’s not beautiful at all. |
| I feel the same about Princess Diana. |
I think both Princess Di and Jackie Kennedy have similar aura. They’re both extremely wealthy and give off that nonchalant, relaxed confidence that you can really be born into and not emulate. It’s good breeding and class. It’s what sets you apart in a room and has nothing to do with the shape of your nose or the color of your hair. |
| She grew up rich, learned charm and poise, which was taken as beauty and charisma. That being said, she was easy on eyes. |
Yes, it’s obvious that Jackie was much younger than most First Ladies. |
|
She had poise, carried herself well, skinny and stylish. She had that aura. She was in a different category compared to her predecessors.
Add to that the whole Camelot myth and the legend was born. Are younger people even interested in her? I was 19 when she died and remember her being a big deal. People were interested/fascinated with her. She frequently was in tabloids. But I wonder if younger people are interested? The Kennedy fascination really seemed to wane after JFK Jr and then pretty much died after Ted died. “Jackie” didn’t seem to age well. She isn’t necessarily relatable to todays women. |
I think it’s because you have to compare her to other ‘first ladies.’ If you look at it from that very specific peer group, she was “beautiful.” |
Princess Diana had much better features. What made her unattractive was the dull look in her eyes and the way she always held her glance down. She was “slow.” She failed out of school and couldn’t handle the easy demands of finishing school. With all of her connections and wealth, she barely managed to work at a nursery. But she had a perfect figure and her actual features were nice. If you look at her sisters and nieces, they are all very attractive. Jackie was the opposite. She was as smart as a whip and had excellent style and a clever look on her face, but her features were awful. She was ugly. If you put Jackie’s smarts with Diana’s looks, you’d have a looker, but individually they were both far from beautiful. |
Says you. |
| She was very homely. I asked my mum why people said Jackie was beautiful when she was so clearly not... and she said when she was a little girl and saw it in the papers she didn't know either. She clearly wasn't. |
