Why is Jackie Kennedy always referred to as “beautiful”?

On a similar note: I don't find Truman Capote's "swans" all that, like Babe Paley, Slim Hawks, CZ Guest, etc al. I don't get the appeal of their looks at all except that they wore beautiful clothes. But I hate the hairstyles and makeup and none have really great features.

But I am looking forward to the show that starts on January 31!

There are a few others who were attractive, Michele Obama for sure and maybe Van Buren's wife, but Jackie stands out in this group and probably in any group of women.

Plus, that’s not Van Buren’s wife. It’s his much younger daughter-in-law, who served as his First Lady, as he never remarried after his wife died.

In her own circles, she wasn't. It was Leigh who was considered the beauty.

But Jackie dressed well and had the whole Camelot, young presidential family thing going for her. JFK wasn't a good looking man either but everyone remembers him as one.

Agreed! None of the Kennedys are good looking IMO. They all have a cartoonish, inbred look to them. Except for JFK Jr. Somehow he escaped that.

I often wonder what people would have thought of the Kennedys if they were running/in office today. The Clintons and the Trumps are shady as hell but they don't hold a candle to the Kennedys.

Her sister spelled her name Lee, not Leigh.

Melania is the only model so it's expected she looks the best. Jackie was weird with eyes too far apart but prior to Melania was the best looking one for not being a model
