Or, more likely, she pitched it and was told by an editor it was too thin. It's only a court filing. People make all kinds of outlandish allegations in court filings. It doesn't make them fact or true. |
+1. I just don't get it. Why were these people so set on protecting him? Walker recalled protesting, “This isn’t the right thing to do—I really think this is sexual harassment” and Simmons replying, “If we find sexual harassment, we have to fire him” Well yeah! That's what you should have done, Michaele! |
Agreed. She's obviously in over her head and trying to just lay low until this passes over. It's getting obvious that almost everyone in her cabinet will be implicated, and at some point, the QB has to take the blame - not just the rest of the offense. You cannot pick someone who only has 7 years of classroom experience/5 in MCPS (1999-2006 & 2001-2006 respectively), 5 years of experience as a principal at one of the smallest middle schools in the district (most Supers have worked in a HS), and only 5 years of central office experience (2 of which were Leadership Development and 1 of which was a BS C-Suite role in Howard County). Side note: this situation shows that if you ever have a complaint about illegal activity with your company, you should ALWAYS consult a lawyer first. |
+1. I'll add that one should always act with integrity. If it doesn't bite you now, it'll bite you when you least expect it later. |
And Key too. |
| Wow! Can someone get fires please!!! As an MCPS employee, we are so incompetent! Especially at Central Office. I would say Walker goes as well since he did change his report instead of doing the right thing. |
Yes, Key too. Completely toxic and petty. Not the tone you need from an HR director. My favorite nugget was when the investigator asked her for the MCPS policy that requires him to turn in his computer while he’s on leave (hint: there is none) and she actually responded by citing to a policy that’s about desks and chairs. |
+1 If Walker’s timeline of events after he changed the report are correct, then it’s clearly retaliation. But I think he has some culpability too. Why did he agree to change the report? Why did he sign a letter he didn’t agree with? There’s more to this part of the story. |
Who knows? Maybe it was weakness because he was having a baby and didn't want to jeopardize his job? Regardless, glad he's speaking up now. It's more than anyone else is doing. |
| Robbins writing this story for moco360 instead of the post is almost certainly because of the turmoil at the Post. This article is well written and well sourced. Hopefully it gets picked up elsewhere- she has done yeoman work on this. |
why not monifa too? |
McKnight*. I haven't seen any evidence she knew what was going on. In a huge school district like MCPS, I would see how she's out of touch with things like this. |
What is your relationship to Dr. McKnight that you have an excuse for every mistake she makes? I’m intrigued. |
| Either McKnight knew and is involve or didn’t know and is a fool. Either way is worse than the other |
| ^^ McKnight needs to go |
