MCPS made an investigator change his report after the fact once they were caught promoting someone to principal who had a history of serious harassment allegations

Anyone can allege anything in a lawsuit. Take it with a grain of salt until proven.

+1 As we’ve seen from the start, McKnight and her teams’s handling of this case has been above board and by the book from the start. A masterclass in effective policies being executed to the T by the administration. MCPS leadership deserves the benefit of the doubt in this until otherwise proven liable in a court.

I'm going to strongly recommend folks read the link, because it is explosive. Khalid Walker is claiming that he was forced to change the initial report, the one Beidelman's supporters keep pointing to as proof of his innocence.

Moreover, it seems victims and witnesses have continued to come forward. If I recall correctly, the initial WaPo reporter talked to about 30 witnesses/victims. That number is now up to 88.

With the caveat that Walker is clearly engaged in some CYA here and should have come forward earlier, this is still deeply upsetting as an MCPS parent:

"However, Walker told MoCo360 that on July 11—one day after The Washington Post filed a Maryland Public Information Act request for Beidleman’s personnel file—Simmons entered his office with a red pen and a hard copy of his draft, and instructed him to change his finding. Walker told MoCo360 he knew then that “there was something nefarious going on. She would have set up a meeting and made tracked changes if it was above board. That’s how we generally do it.”

I'd put money on both being from Joel Biedelman himself

No sympathy for Walker who was denying staff with cancer's requests for accommodations during COVID.

MCPS leadership is absolutely disgusting. 6 months later and Biedelman is getting paid $191k by MCPS to do nothing except post ridiculous things on DCUM.

An absolutely shocking report.

Sad to see the Post not running this, and its only local moco360. This has been amazing reporting.
Heads need to roll. Ignore the trolls, and maybe this thread won't get locked like the 5 other ones.

This is stunningly incompetent HR work. MCPS is going to have to settle with Khalid Walker.

Is there a legal argument to say that based on all of the reporting, that every employe of MCPS is a victim of a hostile work environment?

I don't know how many folks on DCUM have worked in truly toxic environments, but I believe every word of this. For a long time, MCPS Central Office has allowed a "right hand washing the left hand" culture to germinate, and the result is that people feel they have absolute impunity. As essentially the sole employer if you want to teach in a public school and live in Montgomery County, they've never really faced an empowered workforce willing to bring receipts forward.

It appears that is beginning to change, but I think we're going to hear a lot more terrible things before real reforms are instituted.

LOL good use of sarcasm

We need to literally just ignore the troll posts. They are so far beyond belief, that we just continue here letting the adults talk.

"The retaliation allegations—made to MoCo360, partly documented in emails and summarized in a discrimination-based-on-retaliation complaint Walker filed Nov. 8 with the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights—come as the district awaits the second of two investigations by the Montgomery County inspector general."

Walker filed a complaint with the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights. It's good another agency is involved.

He needs to file a lawsuit against MCPS as well.
