You can decline specific programs in the technology agreement. Decline ST math, write to the company and tell them that you do not agree to their terms and services or to their privacy policy. That should end your kid's access to the program |
Talk to the school. Ours uses ST math once a week for like 15 minutes. My older kid doesn't use it at all, they have a different program. |
I told my kid to do it in school if he had to, because sometimes we have to do crappy things.
But he absolutely never did it as homework. There didn't seem to be any consequences for that. |
Yes, he has dyspraxia, so they treated it like an accommodation, and he did other math work on paper instead. Advanced in math, so it was a physical issue. |
Not true. My son complained about it in both first and second grader, especially in second grade. |

Now would be a great time to do ST Math but we don't have the login info, so... |

This. Just ask for something else to your child to do. My kid's class uses math playground, the kids all say it's more games than math. |

I don't seem to hear much about ST Math from my kid anymore. Do they still use this program? Are they going to retire it soon, recognizing it as the gimmick it was? |

Gah - didn't read all the replies but this brought back unpleasant memories when my kid was in ES. (He's a junior now.) Our district was glazing ST Math and I thought for once my kid would get some math at his level. Nope. It is clearly for kids who are not at grade level - and certainly not for kids who are 1+ years ahead.
His teacher wouldn't let anyone level up. It was a mindless, torturous activity for my kid. Sometimes I let him do other stuff and just did it myself so he wouldn't HATE math. |
