Op has a daughter...dd |
I have an advanced degree in Public Health, so actually, I'm pretty well informed in transmission of disease. There is nothing "gross" about cups with open straws. |
| They take their water bottles outside for recess and must set them on the ground for 30 minutes each day. I can’t tell you how many times they get bumped and the straw lands in the dirt and then picked up with inground dirt in it. The shape of them also makes them more unstable than a traditional cylinder shape—-they are too heavy. |
| The real question is how do I think of the next “it” thing and charge 3x what it is worth to make people want it precisely BECAUSE it’s so expensive? |
I don’t think it’s overpriced. Stanley is a legit company with 100 years of thermos products behind them. The $45 cup is huge (40oz) and the double walled insulation genuinely keeps liquids cold for 20+ hours. There are also smaller sizes for less money. Some items are costly but that doesn't immediately = overpriced. This is one of those to me! |
| Stop being a cheap beeech and stfu!!!! |

Great title!
Nobody needs that much water, and if it’s not water in there, they’re going to rot their teeth out. Thank goodness my teens aren’t into it. |
|
My elderly parents LOVE their Stanley cups! Not the biggest ones-they have the commuter one I think.
They don't take the cups out of the house (they don't really go anywhere) but they love that it keeps cold all day and when Dad knocks over the cup, as happens often, the lid stays on and it just bounces. They're really durable. Anyhow, I tease them about being 'totally on-trend!' LOL I have a Stanley thermos that I've used in winter at work for over 20 years, so I guess I am trend-adjacent. |

This is bringing me back to 2003 when Nalgene bottles were all the rage at my high school!
I've been disappointed with my Stanley because it leaks. Not sure if it's just mine but I'm not sure it was worth it. |
| I get it OP, really stupid. My DD got a pair of those ugly slippers that are in |
You should return it to them. They shouldn’t leak. |
They DO leak if tipped over. They are meant to remain upright. |
| What accessories? |
| Is the 30oz better than the 40 in terms of fitting in the car cup holder and functionality? I know the 40 is heavy even without liquid in it. |
| OP what color did you get? |
