It’s hilarious that these are so trendy now. I bought of couple of them at Ross for about $10 several years ago—in regular stainless, before they made all the colors. There’s a great story about how they got popular in the NYT. Stanley is a brand that has been around for over a century and they make great, long lasting products.
That said, we have several at my house. I fill mine with iced tea in the morning and have it at my desk or in the car. My teens don’t take them to school or sports—Stanley makes a 32 oz bottle with a lid that is better for that. I like those better than hydroflask because they don’t get dented like the hydroflasks do. Much sturdier. |
| Love your title. |
| I love mine but I only need one. I don’t understand the collectors. |
|
I would just get it. A few years ago my kid wanted the hydroflask, now they have to have the Stanley. I never thought a cup or water bottle would be a trend.
The cup version is banned at my kid’s school though. They sent out a newsletter saying they were sick of them falling to the floor from desks and spilling water. Our kids can only bring flip straw type water bottles now that can be kept in their backpack pockets. |
I was looking at them 2-3 years ago before they blew up and I guess I should have bought one then. |
| That's a "no" from me dawg. |
| Haha! Same here. I ended up getting on for DD with a Black Friday sale |
| Hilarious title!! My 14 yo daughter wanted one because it was “trendy”. I got it for her birthday now she wants more… |
She wants to be trendy. Get accustomed to it. |
| This is a trend I can support! Not screen/social media related, saving plastic water bottle use, dishwasher safe. Hell I’d buy two. |
| of course it is social media related! |
| This is something I would buy but I’d make my kid do things to earn it and they’d have to sit through an annoying lecture from me about how I’m sympathetic to the allure of trends at their age but it’s an illusion blah blah blah. |
| Don’t knock it until you try it. It got me off my bottled water habit. |
| I ended up getting one for DD yesterday and the store shelf was pretty much empty (almost sold out the one DD wanted) than earlier this week. Certain Stanley cup styles, sizes and colors are definitely more popular than others. |
you wouldn’t buy it as a Christmas present? I think it’s crazy too but if my 11yo wanted one I’d probably buy it as a present. She’s not into stuff like this yet though. |
