How old is he? Look for it, it’s probably a lie.

How old are you?

He sounds independent and strong , unlike so many (insecure) young people.

I would grab him.

But given your post, he may seek someone at his level.

We hit it off, had great conversation and exchanged numbers. We’ve been texting, but when I look him up on social media there is nothing - no Facebook, no LinkedIn, no Instagram. Is this a red flag?

No… Too much drama on Social Media

No LinkedIn is shady if he’s in a professional field.

Wrong. A lot of government people don’t use it.

No, most adults do NOT have/maintain a LinkedIn account. And it’s ridiculous to assume that they do (or should).

Most people in DCUM land and the people we associate with in person do, so the standards of those in the bubble is actually relevant here.

And come to think of it, I am from a very rural town in the west where most people barely graduated from high school and everybody I know from home who has a white collar job has linkedin.

LOL. In DC you are absolutely SURROUNDED with professionals who do not use LinkedIn. Use your brain.

+1 (I am from a rural area but not dumb like you…many professionals in DC are not on LinkedIn.)

If I were to die, my husband would be quite a catch. He has zero social medias presence.

You can block search engines from finding you on social media. Even LinkedIn has very strict privacy settings if you choose to use them.

I don't think you guys understand the difference between the words most, surrounded, and many.

I did some googling (with my apparently dumb brain that I don't use) and 220 million people on LinkedIn are from the US. The population of the United States is 330 million. But maybe you guys are right and the DC area just happens to have a much smaller ratio of people using linkedin!

I don’t use FB, IG, SC, LI.
There’s enough else to do. Privacy is a warm blanket.

I’ve had more than one woman tell me she was sleeping with a married man who claimed he was single without social median.

This is what immediately came to mind for me as a possible concern. So as long as it isn’t this—I’d say green flag!
