I really liked Wonka. I’m not sure if it’s excellent, but it’s one we’ll watch again - prob every year.

| Moulin Rouge! A “jukebox musical romantic drama” much funner and better than I remember. With young and gorgeous Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. |
| Miracle - the movie about the US Olympic hockey team |
| The Commuter (Vera Formiga) |
I won’t do a trying that supports Woody Allen. He should be a social pariah. |
Loved this movie. You hardly ever hear about it. |
| The Zone of Interest on hbo |
| One Life (starring Anthony Hopkins) |
Loved this movie |
My favorite is still A Room With A View. Out Of Africa is an excellent movie as is The English Patient. I realize not everyone is into this romantic period drama genre but when you talk about acting, dialogue, take my break away cinematography and screenplay/direction - these movies really do have it all. I also realize they are based on actual books but there's something about a fabulous book that will turn out a fabulous story too
In terms of new movies, I really think there are so few good ones being turned out these days. It's only blockbusters/sequels and a zillion series on Netflix/cable shows. I don't really have expectations these days of any truly excellent movies. There's definitely good flicks though but soooooooo far and few in between. |
