PP. I haven’t looked at the reviews of Napoleon but DH and I are big history fanatics so we’ll probably enjoy it even if it turns out not to be a great film.

It was awful.

And I LOVE history. Really flat portrayal of Napoleon (such that you can't imagine how he could be a leader), didn't cover the context well (why he rose to power, it was confusing if you didn't already know why), they didn't showcase his tactical genius at all, focused far too much on his relationship with Josephine; and the writers took too many liberties with facts. It was honestly dull and long, and the character development was really weak, with one exception... Vanessa Kirby was excellent as Josephine. I promise I'm not a movie critic snob. We went with a group, and everyone was pretty disappointed.

Really really liked The Holdovers. A good solid story, heart achy and heartwarming, character growth, great acting. Highly recommend as a cozy feel good movie.

The Holdovers - charming, retro, bitter sweet and all characters believable and perfectly cast …

Oh man I loved Joyride - it was so funny

Saw Killers of the Flower moon and it was really good and wrenching

The Holdovers is my favorite movie I've seen in a while

Oh yeah - we saw that one, too! It is gripping - and DARK. I worried about the dog the whole movie through.

That is a very good movie.

I try not to do that brings more money/success to Woody Allen. Just can’t stomach the fact that he can operate in his industry without disdain, after cheating in his spouse with her teenage daughter. So gross.

Interesting though, when I read reviews of this film, they call it “morally vacant”
