Principal placement - Level IV AAP

This isn't right. We are at a center and we know kids who were principal placed.

Advanced math is available at all FCPS elementary schools, outside of full time AAP (not just center schools). That’s a subject specific service —— in math specifically.


Can someone expand how this is decided? Based on my kid's COGAT results, I think they may be considered for something like this.

At our school they looked for pass advanced on the SOL or above 90% on iReady for advanced math. Offering it to all kids was new this year, and I think it's a great thing. Before you had to fall somewhere on the AAP scale (I think level III or IV) to get it. The new standards give a lot more kids the chance to move faster in math. Apparently the push to do this is coming from Reid.
