Why disturbing?

Like they’re an extremist.

An extremist what?

White christian homophobe.

TBS, I decorate Nov 1st but no plastic baby and “virgin” child bride.

So you like to stereotype people. Do you judge people negatively who have a US flag out front?

What do you decorate with on Nov 1?

Christmas decor. What do you think this thread is about?

A church or private home? Sure.

So no Christmas displays anywhere but a private home or church? You haven’t clarified if you mean a nativity scene or things like tree or stockings or a sleigh and reindeer. Do both types of decorations bother you?

Yes to both your questions.

So Christmas displays make you uncomfortable, even Santa and reindeer and Christmas trees and lights, and definitely a nativity scene. And you are uncomfortable if a business has a Christmas display, even if it’s lights and stockings for employees?

Yes, that’s right.

This is so unamerican.

NP. It’s not un-American to not be a Christian.

It’s unamerican to say that Christmas displays make you “uncomfortable.”

No wait. In this day and age, it might be 100% American to say that. I’m surprised she isn’t offended too.

No, it’s not. That’s f-ing stupid. I’m guessing you don’t actually know what American values are based on.

They’re not based on an individuals comfort with Christmas decorations, that’s for sure

Christmas decorations and the whole regrettable celebration encourages wasteful consumerism in this country-something that shouldn’t be tolerated when the earth is literally on fire.
What the heck is up with a White House Christmas Tree by the way? If this isn’t exclusionary, I have no idea what is.

Are you talking about the national Christmas tree? Which sits near the national menorah? Or the tens of Christmas trees that are in the White House each year?

No, haven't seen any holiday display which makes me "uncomfortable." Even the Halloween displays.

That’s because you’re normal.

I love them. Lights, trees, reindeer. So happy.

I am Jewish. But I love Christmas displays. I don't consider most to be religious except Nativity scenes. I love Christmas displays with trees and lights and ornaments in stores and public areas. I love the brightness and festiveness of it all. It makes me happy during a dark time of year. There is nothing religious about Santa Claus. Trees are a pagan tradition.

I am sorry you object to Christmas trees. It’s pretty common in stores, churches, town centers, etc… as this is an American federal-observed holiday and season.

Oh blah blah blah. How often are you in all of those places and being confronted with Santa? You’re just naming a bunch of buildings where you don’t think they belong, and I’m betting you couldn’t tell me the last time you were in most of them.

Everything. America has changed for the better and it’s time to get rid of these relics of the “good ol’ days”.

They make me uncomfortable when they are at my office. Otherwise, everyone should go to town!
