Christmas decor. What do you think this thread is about? |
No, it’s not. That’s f-ing stupid. I’m guessing you don’t actually know what American values are based on. |
That makes me uncomfortable. You must be some sort of weirdo. |
They’re not based on an individuals comfort with Christmas decorations, that’s for sure |
Christmas decorations and the whole regrettable celebration encourages wasteful consumerism in this country-something that shouldn’t be tolerated when the earth is literally on fire.
What the heck is up with a White House Christmas Tree by the way? If this isn’t exclusionary, I have no idea what is. |
Are you talking about the national Christmas tree? Which sits near the national menorah? Or the tens of Christmas trees that are in the White House each year? |
No, haven't seen any holiday display which makes me "uncomfortable." Even the Halloween displays. |
That’s because you’re normal. |
I love them. Lights, trees, reindeer. So happy. |
I am Jewish. But I love Christmas displays. I don't consider most to be religious except Nativity scenes. I love Christmas displays with trees and lights and ornaments in stores and public areas. I love the brightness and festiveness of it all. It makes me happy during a dark time of year. There is nothing religious about Santa Claus. Trees are a pagan tradition. |
I am sorry you object to Christmas trees. It’s pretty common in stores, churches, town centers, etc… as this is an American federal-observed holiday and season. |
Oh blah blah blah. How often are you in all of those places and being confronted with Santa? You’re just naming a bunch of buildings where you don’t think they belong, and I’m betting you couldn’t tell me the last time you were in most of them. |
Everything. America has changed for the better and it’s time to get rid of these relics of the “good ol’ days”. |
+1 It’s really uplifting and beautiful. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! |
They make me uncomfortable when they are at my office. Otherwise, everyone should go to town! |
