| Just suggest other sports you see available near you. Let her try different things. As others on here have said, you don't now what your daughter will fall in love to play. Just let her try multiple options. She'll gravitate to something she like. Or she may just want to do rec with multiple sports. |

Shyness and cheer might not seem compatible, but I was a super shy, introverted kid who would've loved it and really benefited from it. Too bad cheer gyms didn't exist when I was a kid. My introverted but friendly, sometimes shy 9-yo loves soccer and is going to try basketball and dance this winter. She hates having the spotlight on just her, but is fine doing new things in a group, *with* the group. OP, what physical activities is your daughter naturally drawn to, personality or even physical limitations aside? Would she be willing to try something new if a good friend signed up with her? |
