Accepted
UMBC
Towson
St. Mary’s
Union College
St. Olaf

Deferred
Alma Mater with ~5% acceptance rate (ED)
Case Western

Rejected
Macalester

Super thrilled about the LAC acceptances.

This tells me that you went to Harvard where 80% of ED applicants are deferred.

Calling it "alma mater" is an obvious tell. Yale and Princeton are called HYP.
Harvard students are trained to never drop the H-bomb, but also to nevern insinuatd that they might have attended a lesser school.

Did receive merit aid, but TBD as to how this affects the overall COA; they are yet to release award letters. I know some schools do not allow stacking of merit and financial aid. She likes St.Olaf, but it’s going to be dependent on cost. Union issued a very strong financial aid package.

but she did get into Maryland, correct?

DP. UMD isn't out yet, and is a reach/hard target with those grades.

OP, congrats on guiding your sis!!! Glad she has some good options.

For others reading, mine also got good aid from Union -- merit and need.

I don’t know much about Union but St Olaf is great.

No she was deferred because Harvard (OP’s alma mater) deferred 80% of its ED applicants. My cat could’ve applied to Harvard and would have been deferred.

Small update-was deferred from Sarah Lawrence. Was never keen on the school given the scandal with the parent sleeping in the dorm /seeming lack of security. Would not be surprised if sis decides to withdraw her app given current choices.
