| Man you are a great sister! |
This tells me that you went to Harvard where 80% of ED applicants are deferred. |
|
|
I hope your parents and sister are properly grateful, OP! Or at least will be one day! Job well done. |
| OP, help in a way that you deem reasonable. That's all you can do. You will be telegraphing normal, reasonable behavior of which this group will benefit. |
| Well done, OP. My kid just opened her St Olaf acceptance tonight, and she’s so happy. A great school, as are the others on that list. Congrats to your family. |
| Michigan is not top 10 |
Assuming this is Union in New York, and not the Union in Kentucky, she should go there. |
She didn’t say it was. The ED school was top 10 |
| She was probably deferred because her app wasn’t submitted on time. |
| We really liked St Olaf. Did she get merit money? |
I’m 22:29, and yes! She got merit aid, and it’s a very strong contender right now. |
Some great options in there. I hope everyone is taking a chill pill now. Your sister will be fine. |
| Wow! OP’s sister is very lucky to have had her help. Lots of good schools and sounds like they would be a better fit for OP’s sister anyway. Plus the deferral is a soft landing on the alma mater. Brava! |

Glad it worked out for her! And cheers to you - sibling of the year!! 🌟
I hope your sibs are there for you, too (or at least step into that more and more as they get older and the age gap seems to narrow). Sometimes this is the benefit of having extra difficult parents - the siblings turn to each other for support, grow very close, and have each others’ backs through adulthood. Happy to say it’s been that way for me and my brother. (Recently, it’s been a godsend as our parents are aging. So nice to be a team rather than at each others’ throats.) Congrats again to you all. Great outcomes already!! |
