The majority of posters on this thread have expressed thoughts that carrying around a portable toilet for trick-or-treating is absolutely ridiculous.

I feel so sorry for anyone who thinks "the majority of posters" on any DCUM thread represent some kind of general consensus or truth.

I would probably just use a pull up in this particular situation, but little potties can be very helpful and the shaming of them on these boards is ridiculous and embarrassing.

We didn't use pull ups when potty training, so they're our day trip special pants for our 4 year old. She's not great at saying when she needs the toilet until we need to find one immediately. We still get to one most of the time, but pull ups avoid accidents when we're nowhere near a toilet. I'm not getting out a portable toilet in a public place or having to change all her clothes after an accident. It works for us and hopefully she'll get better at holding.

Does she tell you if she does have an accident though? Do you give her permission to use it if she needs to?

She tells us she needs to go and we start looking for a toilet. They're always wee accidents if they happen but she'll not tell us, but we'll know as she'll have asked for the toilet. There is only a handful of times she's had an accident without telling us. It's meant when we have had accidents there's been no distress and way less time to change and clean up. It's really a win,just a little more expensive than a set of normal underwear
