my objection has nothing to do with geographic location - it just happens to be where the lawmakers are crazy. We're also avoiding the Dakotas, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa...the list goes on. |

The law is the law. If you live in that city you have to obey their laws. And more to the point, their refusal to enforce the laws on other people is going to affect you every single day even if you obey the law yourself. The "crazy" laws in the South aren't going to affect anyone intelligent. |

hey, we can visit - just not choosing these states as places to spend several years. I'm forced yearly to visit one because my In-Laws live there - Nice people, backwards state. My daughter's choices are NOT really all that limited. She's applying to at least 10 schools. Very excited about one in new england that we recently visited. I honestly feel like that is the best choice of all of them because the state is unlikely to swing in any way anytime in the near future. |

+1 I think it's great for the school to use merit aid to try and attract strong OOS students, but it's got a long way to go before it has a solid academic reputation. |
