2018 “Decriminalization” of Metro fare evasion in DC

Someone should remind Charles Allen that in life as well in government budgeting, there's no free stuff. It's time to pay the piper.

I pocketed approx $6k riding the metro for free to my job downtown 5 days a week for years. That money is now earning an awesome interest rate. Kind decide if I’ll spend it on myself eventually or make a donation to the NRA.

The decision by DC alone caused WMATA to incur many expenses + all the lost revenue.

Get rid of the fare gates, and fire the police. Instant savings.

Is that fair?

I am speechless.

Is this an Onion article?

Remember the fare thieves and their woke Council enablers when next while waiting 20 plus minutes for a Metro train. The stations and trains will be filthy and less safe and fares will be at least 33% higher -- for those chumps who still feel obligated to pay them. All thanks to the revenue that Metro has lost because DC decided to be "equitable" to thieves.
