the problem with "zero tolerance" is that it ignores all the nuance and assumes the whites are bad, blacks are victims, whatever was said/done was racially motivated, and that everything is crystal clear. that makes for good political drama, but in real life, adolescent boys, black and white, generally get along, but all of them, black and white, say and do dumb things occasionally.
