My legoland loving 8 year old hated Disney. He got tired and sensory overload. Also the crowds were unbelievable in the month of September no less. Also some of the tourists can be rude. He was mistakenly pushed off the curb by a family trying to get a picture of Alice from Alice n wonderland character. The monorail was packed like sardines and the food wasn’t that great. I did all I could in terms of upgrading to fast pass - well many had gotten the memo( could equally afford it) and it looked like a clogged tsa pre check line .. felt like I spent extra money for nothing.
We stayed in timeshare - not on-site after seeing a picture of a roach in one of the Moana/Hawaii themed rooms. I won’t go back and I’m glad my son isn’t into it. It caused more frustration than joy. |
Universal is so nasty. Disney is much better. |
Haa yes. The flights to Orlando always look like my worst nightmare. |
Disney is like cruises, some people love and it some people would rather go to the dentist. |
Did it last week. Hope to never return. It's not worth it to me. I've already told my wife that we're doing something different next year. I really hope that hurricanes stay away and we can go to a resort in the Caribbean.
There are way too many people that are willing to pay the Disney prices and so the experience is horrific. Some of the rides are great but that's not enough of a draw for me. Glad my children enjoyed it. |
We did Disneyland Paris. Two birds one stone! |
So far neither of my kids have asked to go, and I hope it stays that way! I mean, I'll just say no if they do. But glad that so far they don't seem to be missing it. |
I disagree. If I never go to Disney again, it will be too soon. I love Universal. Both are a total rip-off but Universal is a bit easier to manage. And the rides are not 50 years old and terrible. |
Is this new? We were there in Dec 2022 and don’t remember needing to use the app at restaurants or stores. |
Experience of what? My kids like the rides. Not many of those on a cruise. |
I made it to 44 without ever going lol. Then my in-laws took us all with our then 3 year old in 2016.
They wanted to do it for us and I appreciate that, I never need to go again though. Too crowded, too expensive and just to hyped up in general. My kid liked the Mickey character breakfast but aside from that would have been just as happy at Dutch Wonderland |
I've never been to a US Disney park. I grew up in Paris and regularly went to that one, and now I have kids we've visited a few time. It's the same it's always been, basically. The one in Tokyo is perpetually overcrowded but super clean.
The key to all parks is going at the absolutely deadest time of the year and doing all the popular rides first thing in the morning. Otherwise it's not worth it. |
I absolutely cannot with Disney. But I'm a Universal addict, we go 4-6 times per year.
(No, it's not our only vacation. Other common vacations are Europe every other year, California wine country every year, etc.) |
We love Disney. We often go every year or two for a few days. It’s never one of our main vacations we take, just a fun long weekend that we all enjoy. |
We went when our kid was 10-11 and had a great time. |
