It's "Beauty and Fashion," not "Trends and More Trends." Moreover, it's a DC-based forum; this isn't Paris or London. Being so argumentative about a light-hearted, fun thing is rarely a good look, regardless of what you're wearing. |

I liked skinny jeans, though now that I've stopped wearing them, I have to admit I feel little more stylish. I am enjoying playing with the wide-leg silhouettes but stick with mostly straight-leg styles. Fashion is supposed to be fun! I'm not going to throw out my entire wardrobe every season based on trends and most of my wardrobe is pretty classic/timeless, but I genuinely enjoy staying current with a few new pieces as styles change.

But being argumentative about light-hearted topics is basically what this forum exists for! |
|
What I will be wearing this fall if I can get my act together (all of these are at various stages of the online purchase/return process):
wide-leg pants trouser jeans crew neck cashmere sweaters neutral blouses and button-up shirts blazers loafers camel colored trench coat some type of midi-length skirt (haven't decided which one yet) some sort of work appropriate dress (need a new one; haven't found one yet) sneakers 1 pair of flare jeans (these were my go-tos in the 90s and I'm so happy they're back!) |
And it was a silly comment because folks on both sides of this debate were being equally argumentative, as was the PP themself. |
There was only one person implying that others shouldn't be posting on a "FASHION" forum if they weren't going to keep up with the trends.

Can you post some links to nice cardigans? |
| I’m psyched loafers are back. Anyone have some suggestions for really comfortable ones? Are you wearing them without socks? |
Paul Green are really comfortable. Styles range from business, chunky, classic to elderly. |
|
High waisted corduroy shorts with thigh-high socks. |
| Just got a blue, short sleeved sweater dress that I’m going to pair with a brown leather jacket and sneakers. |
Vionic are also really comfortable. The Madewell lug-sole ones take a little breaking in but are nice and high quality. |
The trend is for knit “lady cardigans,” kind of Chanel vibes with a cropped fit, pockets and standout buttons. I have mixed feelings, and they are definitely EVERYWHERE. |
I actively disliked them when I first saw them, but I’ve come around. They look way better on me than traditional blazers do and I find them easier to style. |
Interesting - I think that they must like skinny jeans and find them to be the most flattering choice on them. |
