PK3 adjustment is so hard! Is this normal? What to do??

Anonymous
If you can pick him up after school for the first week, or after only an hour of aftercare, it will help with the adjustment. As soon as he makes better friends with classmates, he will want to stay for all of aftercare! My sons really enjoyed playing on the playground with their buddies in PK aftercare.

He may be able to nap during PK rest time when he gets more comfortable with the new routine.

Do you know if he is eating his lunch and snacks? I've had to send bigger afternoon snacks to school with my kid who isn't great at eating his lunch.

It was difficult for the first couple weeks, and all of a sudden the switch flipped. Your child will adjust soon and you'll forget all about this time until you see someone else post about it years from now.

May or may not happen. My child never adjusted and I regretted making him stick with it for so long.

100% chance that is a reflection on you and not your kid.

Ok ladies and gentlemen - who to chose to believe? The mom-shaming troll, or the mom who has gone through this exact scenario?

I have gone through this. How self centered do you have to be to assume only you have ever had this experience?

Read the thread. I was pretty clear about the fact that some kids do adapt; some don’t. In return I got three posts calling me a terrible mother ruining my kid, lol.
