But not zero.

How do you know this?

This has not been released by the school. I highly doubt it’s true. Source?

Privacy laws will prevent the school from "announcing" such information. That's not common practice to reveal what the NY punishments will be, if any.

So, we are supposed to believe an anonymous poster on DCUM talking us the kids are suspended?

That’s ludicrous.

You're not making sense. You are saying that fights have nothing to do with the sport, unless the sport is soccer which somehow in your mind is free of any sort of violence? What's the difference between football/basketball fans and soccer fans?

Also since you've never heard of a fight after a soccer game, I give you:

At tier two, spectators are limited to students of the home team’s school only, as well as families of student athletes. Other fan capacity limitations may also be imposed, and game times and date may be moved around to maximize daylight and allow more collaboration with police.

This is such a dumb thing, the school system and the police are working together to make sure nobody is charged, nobody is suspended or expelled and the kids who do things the right way suffer.

Dr. Mooney and the Chief are yes men for the county and can't decide what to wear without consulting them.

Great, I look forward to more high achievers moving to private school. Enjoy the resulting test scores.

What on earth are you talking about?

My high achieving RM alum went to one football game about 8 years ago. There was a fight. He never went to another game but that would never have caused us to send him to private. I do not think many families would make such a big change relating to football.

The specific sport isn't the point. The unsafe environment and it's connection to the core school experience is the point.

I would be more likely to transfer out of school that has brawls in the cafeteria or math class than at sports games.

What does “with grounds for expulsion mean?” Either they’re suspended or expelled, what is this an in-between status?

Please read your copy of the Student Code of Conduct manual. Students have rights. They can't automatically be expelled. They/Parents have the right to appeal any decision. They will receive 10 days of suspension with recommendation for expulsion. It'll be a long drawn out process. They still have the right to a free education. While they may not be roaming the halls, they can be sent to Blair G. Ewing (alternative school). The whole mob won't be caught, but the few who've been issues for the past 2-3yrs will be dealt with.

Thank you for explaining this. I do not have a copy of the manual as I am just someone who lives near the school and uses metro frequently.

Five Teens Arrested in Connection with Assault After High School Football Game
Anonymous

Boom goes the dynamite!

"16-year-old Kharon Crosby of Bethesda, is facing charges as an adult, including armed robbery and second-degree assault. Additionally, two other teenagers, aged 15 and 16, have been charged as juveniles with robbery and second-degree assault offenses. Two 15-year-olds face first-degree-assault charges."

It was the home team that started the nonsense. This rule says "we can't control criminals so we won't allow you to enjoy your lives anymore."

THIS

It’s like how the third floor bathrooms are permanently closed at my kid’s high school.

We can’t keep the kids from smoking weed up there, so we just make all kids suffer.

Right. It's death by a thousand cuts.

Who are you expecting ton confirm suspensions for you? The school won't do it because of FERPA. The only way you'd know is if the kids themselves or their families publicized it in the press.

I'm not sure what you want from MCPS on that front?

The judge ordered electronic monitoring for Crosby with a 24/7 curfew to stay at his place of residence.

From WTOP...not attending school.

On house arrest. That’s usually not a fun experience. If you don’t believe it, try it yourself.

Yeah real tough to stay at your home in Bethesda and have your family and friends over to visit. Play with your pet. Eat the same foods you like, watch porn, play video games, sleep in your own bed
Really teaching this guy a lesson.
