Celebrities that just don't seem nice - sneaky or backstabby

+1. She is vain and self absorbed.
Pretty shallow too. Can’t believe Brad was married to her for 5+ years.

I feel like every interview with her has at least one quote that is so weird, babyish, or just plain dumb. She was profiled by the Wall Street Journal magazine about her role producing The Morning Show, and she says, "This is very big-girl." Ewwww.

I have met Julia Roberts & Bradley Cooper in the context of a charity that they both support that my family is involved with and they have been nothing but nice & generous. Julia used to be on the Board & Bradley is now; both donate items to the charity's auction & give their time personally to the beneficiaries of the charity. I have never seen them mention their involvement in the press nor are there cameras around or anything (it's not Hollywood based).

Agree with you, PP.

What a petty-minded, mean thread. And based on...nothing at all. Just how the OP thinks total strangers "seem" to be.

Don't put celebrities on a pedestal but don't assume they're lower than dirt, either. In fact, maybe give them a lot less of your mental energy at all.

OP revealed a lot about who she is by starting this thread.

No she revealed nothing. It's a stupid thread, if you don't want to take part there's plenty of stupid threads in politics or health that you can entertain yourself with.

The "get off my lawn!" DCUM poster has arrived in the thread, folks.

We can call out stupid threads and nasty-minded OPs all we like, PP. You don't get to be thread monitor here.

I can't disagree with you? Hey ho. I think policing is not my problem here lady, it's yours and you are projecting (and weirdly angry). This is the entertainment forum. If it doesn't entertain you, then you can f-off somewhere else. simple.

Is that why the video ads for him kept popping up?? 😛

Kate Hudson seems like she was a mean-girl in high school and is still catty.

Gwyneth Paltrow seems to be another high school mean-girl.

How about Marisa Tomei? She always seemed down to earth.

I don't know anything about her, but I like her movies and how she stays out of the limelight.

Aw, you got all riled up and tried to police the thread again. Simmer down. Resorting to a mere f-off is so weak. Get some rest.

Lol, these extremely visible, famous people are nice and generous when they drop in on a charity with which they have minimal involvement and the entire board and everyone involved fawns all over them and thanks them extensively for their (again, minimal) contributions? The bar is so, so low.

I don't know about Bradley having no first-hand experience but Julia has a reputation for imperious, lazy, and sometimes cruel behavior on sets. Since about the Notting Hill era, she refuses to work more than absolutely necessary, often barely prepares, and is clearly uninvested. Her riders often specify that only a handful of people are allowed to speak to her on set, and she is never to be brought out of her trailer or called onto set until everyone else is 100% ready to go, so that she can drop in, say her lines on camera, and immediately leave. She has no real desire to act, only to play some charming version of herself. She won't do multiple takes even if a scene partner is unhappy with the prior take (or, god forbid, a director -- she demands deference there and won't sign onto movies unless the director and all producers are ready to kiss the ring and defer to her on all things, including script edits and casting of other roles).

Genuine nightmare to work with. She is there to collect a paycheck and I think she only does films at this point to maintain star power/status.

I think Ben Affleck is surly just like he seems, and I think Hailey Bieber is probably awful. Gary Janetti is mean (I watched him at a book signing only talk to 'pretty people' and ignore average or ugly or fat people or flat out tell them he didn't have time for them but then make time for more pretty people). His husband, Brad Goreski (who I met totally separately years apart) is lovely (must be the Canadian in him).

I think Mayim Bialik probably doesn't come across well but know she's an anxious, awkward person so would give her leeway.

He got inappropriately close to his coworker on set in New Orleans. Jessica Biel should have dumped him.

She's gay. She's not going anywhere in that fake marriage of theirs.

NP here. She also has no talent, has only ever played herself, and those of us who are her age will also remember the not-so-flattering articles about her and her behaviour from years ago. Trashy, rude, no manners, imperious (??), and generally behaving like the person she is.

A good publicity person will help you a lot in that business. Right, Angelina?

SJP is salt of the earth. My spouse encountered SJP at her shoe store at the Seaport in NYC, this was 5+ years ago. SJP was working the store, grabbing shoes out of the stock room, and just chatting with customers about styles. It was a quiet weekday afternoon and SJP was basically running a shoe store with 1-2 other employees.

Kinda crazy, TBH.

You should watch the HBO max Smartless series. JB was my famous crush of 20+ years till I watched that. He’s a piece of work.

Indeed. You can see what a lifetime in Hollywood can do to someone. He comes off as natural/normal in general settings, but that disordered eating, food shaming, etc. was the stuff of teenage nightmares. All I could think about was any kids he has.

Yes, its completely naive to think that her persona at a charitable event is her every day "self" or the self she shows to people working for HER. Totally different story. Long term, well known bad-ass.
