There's nothing wrong with forcing your kids into a lucrative career path IMO. I don't understand the many commenters here saying that they "would never force their kids into tech."

Software engineering is the easiest way to make a lot of money young, full stop. Anyone from an immigrant or working class background understands the value of compounding interest and saving up lots of money when you're young and single.

The world is becoming increasingly unaffordable. I will definitely be steering my kids to lucrative careers. Tech and finance (especially the latter if you go to an elite college) are king. Full stop!
