When people don't have a substantive response, they resort to name-calling. Usually shows that the poster they were responding to is correct. |
There is natural beauty: Shenandoah national park, Chesapeake bay, Atlantic Ocean beaches to name a few. The lakes are just nasty. |
Shenandoah national park - no swimming (too warm/algae bloom), Chesapeake bay - no swimming (jellyfish), Atlantic Ocean beaches - ok to swim, 3 hours away. |
Holy Hell! How do the people who make decisions at both "agencies" read the following two paragraphs: The Virginia Department of Health, along with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, is investigating “approximately 20 probable cases” of gastrointestinal illnesses connected to visits to Lake Anna in Spotsylvania County over Memorial Day weekend. WTOP news partner 7News spoke to a mother whose 15-year-old daughter, after the spending the day at the lake, “has been diagnosed with hemolytic uremic syndrome. She’s in kidney failure.” And then end up with a response like this?? Both agencies say they don’t have enough information yet to set up a water or swimming advisory for the region, but prompt people to be cautious around the lake and other bodies of water. They recommend anyone suffering with symptoms like stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, fever or chills after being in the lake to receive medical care. Let me guess... the powers that be at both of these agencies are also on the board of tourism for Lake Anna? 🤔 |
If the Chesapeake is too nasty for you to swim in, Lake Anna isn't for you. |
This is the classic nuclear thing though... It's not an issue, until it is. And then the issue is wayyyyy beyond anything you can imagine. Also, if something bad happened at Lake Anna's nuclear plant, it would be "an issue" for DC... it actually wouldn't be an issue for people who live at Lake Anna, because they'd all be dead. |
The sandbar scene is horrific. |
This is insane. I feel so badly for these families. |
Have you considered boating/swimming directly in a water treatment facility? |
Has anyone checked for 3 eyed fish? |
Got it. So you consider “natural beauty” to mean “swimming”. Makes sense. Also, there’s not algae blooms in Shenandoah national park. But there’s not really any swimming either. I’ll let you figure out why. |
Sure, but the PP was just dumb. Only someone who is dumb would say the area lacks any natural beauty. If they don’t own a car, they do own access to google. |
What does this mean? |
It means drunk red faced red necked Busch light swilling bikini clad (or board short/wrap around Oakley clad) overweight Virginians attempting to twerk to rap music or howl to Kenny Chesney or Toby Keith and then pilot their boats recklessly around the coves and inlets of the lake. |
