August waitlist data is posted

Too soon to tell but it could partially be that the last two post-pandemic years were in some respects anomalies with higher than average movement and that we are not getting more back to normal.

ITDS posted 24 slots for 5th this year, which they knew would be more than the seats available… I guess they figured it was safe enough to overenroll early, and then not have to go to the waitlist so much later on. We are a current family and it seems there are 14 new kids in the 5th grade at the moment… even tho 24 slots were initially offered. So yeah, the typical attrition probably happened but they didn’t have to go to the waitlist much because they purposely overenrolled.

FWIW I was told 15 new kids but it seems like we only have 14, and homeroom 5B is at only 22 so there might be more on Monday... Best of luck for everyone still hoping for a spot!
