Winter break vacation idea

Foe something interesting and memorable with kids that ages, South America would be my top choice—Ecuador/Galápagos or Argentina/Patagonia (Buenos Aires is wonderful and Argentina on its own a great trip). New Zealand Australia Southeast Asia might be too far/travel time/time change for 7-10 days although Vietnam annd Cambodia also on my bucket list but probably a trip dh and I will do when kids in college and we are more flexible.

I'd skip Patagonia. Even if it's in similar time zone, it's a long, long haul with not much to do, unless the family enjoys roughing it for 10 days.

Also skip Vietnam and Cambodia. If this is first trip to Asia, go to Tokyo instead. There will be so much to do for everyone. Up until the New Year Eve, the hotels are pretty affordable.

Vietnam and Cambodia were amazing for our kids’ first trip to Asia. Don’t know why you’d need or want to do Tokyo first, it’s totally different but not necessarily better imo.

Would the PP who took this Nat Fri trip elaborate? We are considering it. How many people did you have to tour around with and were the accommodations nice?

Little Palm is outrageously expensive. I really don’t know how they stay in business at those prices.
However, PP, if you really want to go you can go over for a meal (typically brunch on weekends, lunch or dinner). Their launch will pick you up on Little Torch Key and ferry you over and back.
My wife & I went for lunch there 2 years ago and even that was incredibly expensive, but it was worth it just to see the resort.

Presumably OP already went. Where did you go OP?

This thread is from August about a trip last December. You revived it why?

We prefer warm weather but it doesn’t have to be.

Once in a lifetime trip ideas welcome

Prefer to keep under $30k but we can be flexible for something particularly good.

Concierge suite on a Disney cruise to Eastern or Western Caribbean. Add on some park days with VIP pass before and after, including Mickeys Christmas Party. Easy fun relaxing vacation with very little planning required.

You’re welcome.

That sounds like hell….and so pedestrian.

Call it what you want but it’s fun and the kids will love it. Disney cruises, especially Concierge level, are glorious. The Christmas cruises are especially magical.

I can tell you’ve never tried one and that’s okay. My family loves them.

What’s so glorious about concierge level?
