| I don’t get all the anxiety. Hell hasn’t frozen over. The apocalypse is not nigh. People all know the usual suspect schools. This is simply a list of schools on the upswing that an unhooked smart kid has a chance to get into, & which if their kid attends, the parents can feel proud that they succeeded in raising their kid & in playing the admissions game. |
Exactly. |
But it does have Early Action https://uadmissions.georgetown.edu/applying/early-action/#:~:text=Applicants%20admitted%20in%20December%20under,made%20to%20any%20other%20schools. |
You sound nuts so perhaps refrain from lecturing people |
| Tier two - all good schools - but nothing really new here. |
It's a Black thing, and you obviously don't understand. Certain top-tier HBCUs are experiencing a flood of admission applications and resulting escalation in selectivity. The short list would include Howard, Morehouse, Spelman, Hampton, and NC A&T. Many Black high school students are rejecting Ivy and top 25 admissions to attend HBCUs to avoid the racism and microaggressions (such as that mentioned above) often experienced at PWI. Also, the expansion of corporate partnerships at HBCUs afford students access to high-quality internships, summer jobs, training, and specialized institutes. So, yes, Howard! |
| Spelman has had a huge surge in applications. Excellent school. |
+1 ANY. |
Where is the Tufts hater when you need him?? LOL. |
| I was with the Howard guy until the micro aggressions comment. Microaggressions, like cultural appropriations, seem to have been invented to fill the void when actual aggressions became scarce. |

Maybe someday there'll be an update of the "Hidden Ivies" list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hidden_Ivies
Sure — all the "Different Ivies" lists use "Ivy" to catch people's attention. But really, anything that helps expand the definition of "excellent colleges" beyond those well-known eight schools is a plus in my book. |
Which has more haters? Tufts UVA USC NYU Northeastern |
This list is comedic. |

“Which has more haters?
Tufts UVA USC NYU Northeastern” An interesting group. Their campuses are in 2 huge shadows, haughtily called grounds, guarded by an army of security guards, nonexistent, & recently established, respectively. All are trying hard and making due with what they have. No need to hate them (even the $#!+hole that waitlisted my kid). |
You know that there is a lot more to a top university than just an undergraduate ranking at USNWR right? There are graduate and professional schools, research, and resources that the top publics offer that aren’t easily duplicated except at a few top elite privates. |
