House.
I'd trade one of mine for a house. Everyone knows that's why you have 4: the good one, misunderstood one, the one who has been age 45 since birth, and the dud that is expendable. |
| For me, another child. But I have an only and secondary infertility. If I had 3 kids, the answer would change. If I had 2 kids, I would have to really grapple with this. |
| We have 4 kids so a vacation home next is a easy choice |
| I’d rather have a 3rd child than a vacation home. But I’ve always wanted 3 kids and my spouse only wants 2 so we won’t be having a 3rd so it doesn’t matter. Neither of us would want a vacation home. Too much trouble owning another home, managing it from a distance much of the year, having to use vacation time to go there and do home maintenance stuff, etc |
They don't. Kids are expensive, this is common knowledge. |
| I’d take the vacation home. I don’t really want either, but I could sell the house. |
Same here! |

I have more than one. |
| I have 3 kids already but I’d choose child. We are on the fence about a 4th and I love raising kids. I don’t want a vacation home |

Another "neither"
Both sound like fun but then I get practical and realize neither suits our lifestyle. We considered a vacation house all through covid 2020/21 and I'm thankful we didn't pull the trigger as my vacations and concerns would have been really different. |
| For OP, definitely a house because no one should have unwanted children, and anyone who thinks that is a meaningful tradeoff is not ready to be a parent. |

Vacation home. My youngest is a teen and we are looking forward to retirement. We don’t want another child.
I wouldn’t trade one of my current children for a vacation home though. |
| I don’t want any more kids so I guess I’ll take the vacation house if you’re offering. |
