Would you rather have a vacation house or one more child?

Chances of a child being able to pay you back everything you put into them for 18 plus years is slim to none. Yes they might help take care of you in old age but that’s not guaranteed. I wouldn’t want a vacation house either. I prefer to see new places.

The joy of children can pay you back in ways that aren't quantifiable in any financial terms. ( I say "can" because obviously it's not the case for everyone...)

I have 3 kids and a vacation home. I would trade a 4th kid for the home but was unable to get pregnant without IVF.

Sorry, this question repels me.

I would rather have houses than kids.

One more child personally, if I wanted another child.

Neither.

Initially I thought “vacation house” but then I though about the maintenance headache and the “obligation “ to vacation in the same place year after year….

Another child? A hard no.

Curious, but how old is your child?

Vacation house. Enjoy and leave it for your existing kids to enjoy or sell for something they prefer.

Neither. No vacation home (I'd rather see the world) and definitely no children.

At the moment, I'd rather have a vacation house than my 16 yo. I expect that feeling will pass, though. But since she's an only, and we're in our 50s, I'd rather have a vacation house than another kid every day and twice on Sunday.

If I already have kids, can I turn one in for a vacation home?

Did you pay for your parents back for your life?
