Is something wrong with Mitch McConnell?

In all seriousness: it is hard to see any fellow human have that experience.

After all the dirty tricks that McConnell played to pack the Supreme Court, how can you even think of him as humsn. He is a cold blooded reptile.

I hope he burns in Hell, but he’s not getting my human decency on the way there.

I disagree. Not everyone of a given age has similar deficits or even strengths. I think Mitch should retire though, and I’ve thought that for a few years now, although my preference would be that he get voted out.

Sure, and some pilots can fly just fine at 70 and 80.

There is still decline in folks as they age. Political leaders have shown they crave power too much to step aside, so we absolutely need age limits for politicians.

And that damn well also includes presidents.

You know trump was born in the same year as Bill Clinton and George Bush?

So? Are you under the impression I’m a republican or Trump cultist?

No, I’m a lifelong democrat and sane human being. But I’m sick and tired of octogenarians in power.

Enough is enough.

Yes, I will vote for Joe over any republican, but I’m very disappointed he didn’t retire.

Biden is the ONLY Dem who can beat any Republican.

Ridiculous. No he absolutely is not.

DP. I agree but that’s who is running. Let’s not elect Trump, please. Everyone turned their nose up on HRC and look what we got for that… 3 conservative judges, overturned RvW, and an insurrection. We don’t need Trump back so we can experience a dictator.

Of course! I’m pissed, but I’m not an idiot. I will vote for the 82-year-old dem. (And I’ll still secretly hope he decides to retire before it’s too late.)

Astonishing how he seems to have more energy than both of those two combined.

I don’t disagree with that. I think, though, that any intervention should be on an individual basis — which might be impractical— or something other than a blanket age restrictions. Also, as to the age limits or term restrictions, with politicians, there is ALWAYS the option of simply not voting them in. That so many decide not to use this option doesn’t keep it from being a genuine and useful option. PP

True, but then you end up with situations where not voting for the 82-year-old could lead to further degrading of women’s body autonomy and Black people’s right to vote and other terrible things.

I honestly think Joe had an obligation to step aside because no one of character is going to primary him out of respect for him.

But, yeah, most of the time, we shouldn’t vote for 70+ folks.

You shouldn’t be able to run for office once you are Medicare age. It’s not a retirement job.

We should have key politicians in their late 30s, 40s and 50s

Not 60s, 70s and 80s. It’s so sad

completely agree. I also think there should be term limits too—no career politicians bought and paid for by big oil or whatever.

They need to unplug him, wait 30 seconds and then plug him back in. If that doesn't work get a paper clip and push in that little button on his back. That's all I've got.

Are these people just addicted to the power and status? This is sad.

Yes, addicted to power. McConnell, Pelosi, Feinstein, Grassley, Graham, Biden, Trump and many other powerful folks that are well past their primes and would serve the country well if they were to retire.

Pelosi and Biden run rings around the rest of those people. Feinstein has been begged by her party to leave; the GOP won’t ask their geriatrics to go.

No. You try to get your little angle shots in, but no. Pelosi froze on camera also.

You may not be honest with others but be honest with yourself.

McConnell won’t retire while KY Governor is a Dem.

The current GOP candidate for KY Gov is married to McConnell’s niece. He’s trying to hold on for dear life until his relative is elected.

When was the last time you saw Donald Trump on a bike?
